With an entertaining story, great characters, loads of humor, and plenty of action Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl stands as the best in the franchise at least for me.

The story is bland and nothing new but that can be forgiven if there's at least a lot of humor only there wasn't save for the couple chuckles here and there the only saving grace about this was the incredibly beautiful Isla Fisher.

Even with a great performance by Emily Blunt the films suspense and mystery falls flat which makes it a bore to watch.

Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg team up again for a 3rd time doing another "based on true events" movie. I liked their previous two movies Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon but Patriots Day is for sure their best work yet. Wahlberg gives a great performance and Berg's simple yet effective directing really sets the tone for the film.

While its story is pretty average its cinematography sets it apart from other action movies from its time. I hadn't watched this movie in years but i was really surprised to see how much i ended up liking it despite its lukewarm score.
